Cheering on the Vancouver Whitecaps and connecting with the community
What a fun evening it was! As part of our continued journey with the Vancouver Whitecaps to connect more with those in the local Chinese community, we were honoured to be able to co-host an exclusive visit to the Owner’s Circle at BC Place for a September match.
More importantly, we were able to witness a terrific result by the boys in white and blue!
A three-goal second half sealed the victory for the Whitecaps against Los Angeles Galaxy, giving fans and our guests multiple chances to celebrate.
We also had the opportunity to visit the pitch after the game, taking photos at the field level and admiring one of the future host venues of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Guests include, from L to R: Ted Lee, Gilbert Qing, Paul Zhang, David Lu, Adam Luan, Lotta Ygartua, Dr. Clinton Lee, ChiChi Wang, Sophie Xiao, Lily Li, and Hosea Cheung
Being able to connect culture with brands and messaging is an important aspect of the work we do at Sageus Strategy + Digital. And we know the impact it has in promoting inclusion, representation, and collaboration.
Our work includes strategy development, content creation, social media management, public relations, influencer management, community outreach, paid digital, media buys, and other marketing and communications initiatives. This also aligns with our experience in bridging culture, working with clients to reach the Chinese community or to connect more with the North American market.

Recently, we had the pleasure to invite a couple Chinese social media influencers to Whitecaps matches as well, to highlight their experience as fans. Check out Jacky’s match day vlog with the family, and Cherry’s fun experience as a jersey flag bearer!
As well, several sponsored content pieces in WeChat outlets were also created to continue building brand awareness for the team among the Chinese community.
